1. SHELTER & REBUILDING
Providing temporary shelter or rebuilding permanent homes destroyed by the earthquakes. With the monsoon fast approaching it is important that earthquake survivors, especially the very young and the very old have safe, waterproof roofs over their heads.
2. FIRST-AID EDUCATION
Developing and implementing an educational program that teaches children first-aid in schools in remote areas. First aid can save lives and prevent disability in mountain areas where the nearest health post maybe many hour’s, or even days walking.
3. CLOTHING
Delivering clothing to people in remote areas who lost not only their houses but their clothing too. A new pair of sandals helps the women walking rocky, slippery trails to fetch water for their families. A new dress allows a young girl to resume her education. Clean, neat clothing helps restore damaged self-esteem to everyone.
4. FARMING WITH GREENHOUSES
Providing longterm food production by building greenhouses, providing seeds and offering farming and nutrition educational programs. Greenhouses have already been proven to increase crop yields in Nepal, giving subsistence farmers a cash income to provide health care to their families, education for their children and generally improve their standards of living. Education assists farmers to choose crops suited to their region while nutrition education introduces new foods to a population blighted by malnutrition.
5. USED LAPTOPS
Many schools collapsed in the Nepali earthquakes, destroying their already poor educational materials. You can help Nepali children resume their education with your old laptops and tablets. Micro-Care Nepal will deliver your used machines to remote village schools where they will be treasured by the children and used to improve their futures.
